Jackie “B” Stole the Show with her 1986 Pitts S-1T. Weighing almost 850 pounds, this special made bi-plane pulled some “G”s for the Porterville crowds. “ It has been eleven years since Porterville has had an air show like this, said ‘Jacquie B’ and I was more than happy to start this show for the folks in Porterville.”
In our exclusive interview with Jacquie B, we learned that she’s had her pilot’s license for 22 years and she didn’t start flying aerobaticly until 1998, ten years ago. She’s been flying in air shows for six years now and told the Post, “ … ever since a friend took me up in a plane and flew me up-side-down, I knew this is what I wanted to do. And believe me, you’ll either love it or hate it.”

Jacquie B told the Post that she obtained her “Pitts Special Edition” from a friend in April of 2000. “He’d heard I was in the market for one said Jacquie … and the rest is history.” Not quite. The short history of Jacquie B little bi-plane kinda goes something like this.
“The Red Eagle” as it’s called was one of three which were factory built for a special occasion which marked the 100 year anniversary of the Statue of Liberty and it’s refurbishment. In 1986, these three little “Red, White and Blue” bi-planes flew around the statue of Liberty on that day and have been linked to that special occasion ever since.
It’s powered by a Lycoming Engine that cranks about 200 plus horse-power and it can reach an air speed of a little over two hundred miles an hour. It has a wing span that’s just over 17 feet and is a little under 15 ½ in length.
“I flew my first air show when I was 50 years young, Jacquie B told the Post, and if there’s some advise I’d like to leave with my fans it’s this. You’re never too old to start a new adventure.”
As well ... Jacquie B told the Post that she does pray and asks for GOD to help her make the right choices. “I don’t usually pray for miracles; I just pray that GOD will help me make the right choices when I’m performing for my fans.”
