First Ever Nationwide Test of the System Occurring at 11 A.M. PST - This Wednesday November 9, 2011, the first National test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) will be conducted. Across the nation, individuals will hear the familiar tones, or see the test message across their television screens saying "this is a test".

VISALIA - Tulare County was hit with heavy rainfall Tuesday night, moving the Tulare County/Operational Area Emergency Operations Center to a higher level of activation to support county and city response actions. A local state of emergency continues to stand as the heavy precipitation caused additional localized flooding in flood-prone areas and
ROAD CLOSURES.
Tulare County/Operational Area Emergency Operations staff has continued to monitor the storm impact, and with recent heavy rainfall, portions of Tulare County such as Seville, Tonyville, Lindsay, and east Porterville have experienced flooding.

TULARE COUNTY -- Tulare County is taking precautionary measures in anticipation of a series of
WINTER STORMS, forecast by the National Weather Service to begin impacting the area on
FRIDAY and last well into next week. Heavy precipitation and localized flooding in flood-prone areas are possible with this series of storms. To properly prepare residents for the incoming storms, Tulare County is providing locations where residents can obtain sandbags, and is taking extra steps to identify potential problem areas.
