Candidate Campaign Info :
I have lived in Porterville all my life and have the time to allocate to the City, making it my first priority and all the responsibilities being on City Council requires. I'm married to Clayton "Fuzzy" Taylor and I'm retired.
I have worked in both Private and Public sector: I have owned my own business which is still viable today and is operated by my grandson.
I was Main Street Project Manager for 3 years which required working and communicating with business owners, property owners and City leaders. I served on the CDBG advisory Board for 3 years.
I worked for Tulare County in the Employment Connection, and Health and Human services for a total of 26 years. More recently I was an active member of the Sesquicentennial Committee, working on all the projects.
I've been observing City Council meeting, for many years and this past year I have attended almost every Council meeting. It has been my experience that watching the money is paramount and maintaining a balanced budget is essential.
Listening and responding to the needs of the people who address the City Council is critical as they have taken the time and effort to pose their problem and deserve an answer.
One of the most important things I've learned is if you say you are going to do something, do it!
If elected I will do my best to serve this City I love.
