On February 23, 2009 at approximately 16:15 PM officers from the Porterville Police Department were dispatched to Porter Road, just half a block north of Olive Avenue to assist in a rear-end collision.
Neither drivers were injured however, both vehicles were damaged. Once both drivers got out of their vehicles, the female driver of the late model white Nissan attempted to blame the driver of the white Ford truck, Mr. Billy Cooper, saying he was at fault because he didn't go when the light turned green.
The driver of the truck, stated to the Post, "there were two lights at that intersection {Olive and Porter} and the farthest one away was red and the one closest was green. I couldn't go until it the traffic moved forward and that's when she plowed into the back of my truck. The front of her car was messed up pretty good. The only damage to my truck was a bent bumper and toe bar."
Once the officers confirmed that the woman had no licensed, they impounded her car and gave her a sitation. She then called for her boyfriend / husband to come and pick her up and the police determined he had no license and registration, they imponded his car - a blue Chevy Avalanche - as well.
