When will we learn ? Machines are only as good as those who program the infernal contraptions. If they were all that great, then we wouldn’t have to upgrade all the time. Don’t get me wrong, computers have their place and I really enjoy typing as oppose to hand-writing. However, when these machines {programmers} decide who wins the next election, then it’s time to have a paper backup - one that can verify your actual vote.
One of the latest electronic elections that needed a re-do happened in Rapid City, South Dakota, {story} where a city council race, according the last count, suggested another run-off … until someone thought it odd that there were more votes than voters. And guess what the elections officials had to do ? They were called back to manually re-count all those votes, which they should have done in the first place.
Another “Voter-Watch” web site that the Post monitors quite often is called “The Brad Blog”. This web site, even though it leans to the left, is one that deserve a visit or two. They’ve been at the forefront on many of these vote scams and indeed deserve kudu’s for their efforts. What you’ll notice, they investigate the crimes of voter fraud. If that candidate just happens to be a Republican who employed the services of one of these scammers, then that candidate will get called on it … just like the Democrats.
Doing a simple Google search on votes scams will pull up hundreds of web sites and pages with information regarding this issue. But knowing where they are and understanding how the scammers and hackers do it, does not change the process of dishonest votes and dishonest voting practices. This problem will continue and become more refined until we the people do something about it.
The Post addressed this with our local Assemblywoman Connie Conway when she spoke at the California Republican convention held in Bakersfield and she appeared open and interested in more information. She was informed by the Post regarding the many times that votes had to be recounted by the machines and how easy it was to hack into the voting software. We let her know that the “Paper Ballot” is a huge issue and one that would garner additional election votes from Democrats as well as Republicans.
I said … she appeared interested – meaning that she would look further into it if more and more people gave her a call (916) 319-2034 (559) 636-3440 or sent her an e-mail. The Post opened the door and our Assemblywoman is right behind the door and waiting to hear from you.
