On December 29th, 2008, four victims contacted the Porterville Police Department, reporting that they had been assaulted in the 800 block of W. Henderson Avenue. The victims stated they had been chased to that location from the 800 block of W. Grand Avenue by three suspects who were challenging them to a fight.
Once in the 800 block of W. Henderson Avenue the suspects caught the victims and assaulted them with their hands and feet. After the assault the three suspects fled the area. Investigation identified two of the suspects as Bo Ebling and Matthew Spraggins. The victims sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
On December 30th, 2008, detectives from the Porterville Police Department’s General Investigations Unit and officers form the Patrol Division responded to a residence in the 800 block of W. Grand Avenue after information was developed as to the possible location of the suspects.
As detectives were making contact at the front of the residence, Bo Ebling and Matthew Spraggins attempted to flee out the back. Uniformed patrol officers who had been previously positioned behind the residence took both suspects into custody without further incident. Bo Ebling and Matthew Spraggins were booked with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.
