On December 17, 2008, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Detectives from the Porterville Police Department’s General Investigations Unit arrested Brian Dale Woodward, age 43, at his residence in the 500 block of W. Fairhaven in Porterville. Mr. Woodward was taken into custody without incident on charges of child molestation and witness / victim intimidation.
Detective Jeff Dowling had been conducting an investigation into allegations that Mr. Woodward was responsible for repeatedly molesting a female juvenile.
Evidence obtained during the course of the investigation revealed that Mr. Woodward had repeatedly molested a female juvenile over a several month period and had also made threats to the victim’s life should she ever report him to authorities.
During the course of the investigation Mr. Woodward became aware that the incident had been reported to the police and he again made threats towards the victim as well as family members of the victim.
Mr. Woodward was booked with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department on charges of child molestation and witness / victim intimidation.
