On November 22, 2008 at approximately 10:25 a.m., Officer Robert Craig of the Porterville Police Department was investigating a suspicious vehicle at Motel 6 located at 935 W. Morton Avenue in Porterville.
During the investigation Officer Craig was able to determine the vehicle had been embezzled from the registered owner approximately two years ago.
Further investigation revealed the subjects in possession of the vehicle were staying at the motel.
Assisting officers responded to the motel where they contacted Jorge Lopez of Terra Bella and two 17 year old suspects. While investigating this case, Officer Craig determined all three suspects were under the influence of a controlled substance.
Further investigation revealed the subjects were in possession of approximately ½ a gram of methamphetamine.
Jorge Lopez was booked into custody at the Tulare County Jail. The two juveniles were booked into custody at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility.
