On November 13, 2008 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Officers were dispatched to an address in the 1700 block of West Olive Avenue regarding a stabbing that had just occurred. The confidential victim had sustained minor stab wounds to the abdomen.
The victim told officers that he had interrupted what he thought was a vehicle burglary in progress and he was assaulted by two males. The victim was transported to Sierra View Hospital for treatment. The victims wounds did not appear to be life threatening.
The victim was able to provide a description of the suspects. On November 14, 2008 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Officer Aguilar stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near the intersection of Prospect Street and Westfield Avenue.
During a search of the vehicle, a club and several fixed bladed knives inside of the vehicle. Officer Aguilar also located a small amount of methamphetamine inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
The above suspects were inside of the vehicle when it was stopped. Arturo Corona and Pedro Corona matched the description provided by the victim.
The victim viewed photographs of Arturo and Pedro Corona and positively identified them as the suspects who had assaulted him. Additionally, all of the suspects wore attire consistent with membership in a criminal street gang.
Arturo and Pedro Corona were subsequently booked into Tulare County Jail on all of the above charges. The juvenile suspect was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and released on a citation to his parents.
