On November 6, 2008, Officer Knox responded to a report of a fight at 31 N. Newcomb Street (Sierra Mini Mart). Upon arrival, it was determined the suspects had assaulted a victim in the parking lot and stole his property.
As the suspects fled, they yelled gang slurs at the victim in an attempt to intimidate him. The victim reported that the suspects fled in a white Toyota Tundra pick-up.
As Officer Knox was at the crime scene obtaining information, Officer Green observed a vehicle similar to what the victim had described. Officer Green and Officer Martin initiated a high-risk traffic stop on the suspect vehicle.
All of the occupants (listed above) were identified by the victim and witnesses as the suspects involved in the assault and robbery that occurred at the Mini Mart. The victim’s property was also located in the suspect vehicle and was ultimately returned to him.
All of the suspects were arrested for Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and a Gang Enhancement. The juvenile suspect was booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility, and the adults were booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Porterville Substation.
