On October 30, 2008, at approximately 1:30 p.m., detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.) served a search warrant in the 200 block of East Putnam Avenue in the City of Porterville. During the service of the warrant, detectives detained Jose Rodriguez, Alex Cervantes, and Jillyne Rowell.
During the search, investigators located approximately 30 grams of suspected marijuana, scales, packaging materials and paraphernalia which was consistent with suspects being members of a criminal street gang.
Jose Rodriguez and Alex Cervantes were arrested for sales of a marijuana, maintaining a residence where a controlled substance is being sold, and being members of a criminal street gang.
Cervantes also had an outstanding arrest warrant for resisting a peace officer. Both suspects were booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, Porterville Substation and are being held in lieu of a $30,000 bail.
Jillyne Rowell was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant. Rowell was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, Bob Wiley Detention Facility and is being held without bail.
