On October 29, 2008, at approximately 7:30 a.m., detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (S.I.U.) served a narcotic search warrant in the 300 block of Olivewood Circle in the City of Porterville. During the service of the warrant, detectives detained Arnold Tanguma.
During the search, investigators located approximately 200 grams (approximately ½ pound) of suspected crystal methamphetamine packaged for sale. The total weight of the suspected crystal methamphetamine had an estimated street value of approximately $9,000.
Investigators also located packaging material and other items associated with the sales of crystal methamphetamine. Tanguma was also found to be a member of a criminal street gang.
Arnold Tanguma was arrested for sales of a controlled substance, possession for sales of a controlled substance, maintaining a residence where a controlled substance is being sold, selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, destruction of evidence, felon in possession of ammunition and being a member of a criminal street gang.
Arnold Tanguma was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, Porterville Substation and is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bail.
