On October 20, 2008, at approximately 3:47 p.m., officers from the Porterville Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision at “F” Street and Willow Avenue.
When officers arrived they found a 17 year old male Porterville resident lying in the roadway suffering from major head injuries.
Witnesses report that the victim had been struck by a light brown or champagne colored four door vehicle which fled the scene.
The victim was transported to Sierra View District Hospital by ambulance. He was later transferred to University Medical Center in Fresno where he remains in critical condition.
The case is currently being investigated by detectives from the Porterville Police Department’s General Investigations Unit.
At this time the incident is being considered an intentional act and the investigation is being conducted as an attempted murder.
