On October 18, 2008 at approximately 11:20 a.m. Officer Orique was dispatched to Sunshine Handy Mart regarding a female subject trying to cash a forged check.
Officer Orique arrived on scene and contacted Barbara Flory at the business.
The forged check was recovered from the store clerk and additional forged checks were later located inside Ms. Flory’s vehicle.
Based on the listed circumstances and Ms. Flory’s statement it was apparent she planned this crime in advance and entered the store with the intent to commit fraud.
Ms. Flory was arrested and transported to the Porterville Police Department for booking.
Ms. Flory was transported to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Bob Wiley Detention Facility for housing on charges of 470 PC-Check Forgery, and 459 PC Commercial Burglary.
