On September 14, 2008, at approximately 3:00 PM, Officer James Gong conducted a traffic stop in the area of Orange Avenue and Main Street.
Officer Gong contacted the driver Roberto Navarro. During the traffic stop Roberto Navarro was taken into custody for transportation for sales of suspected cocaine.
Detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) were called to assist in the investigation.
Detectives obtained two search warrants in the 100 Block of West Orange Avenue. Detectives conducted a search of the residences and located additional cocaine and ammunition.
Justino Navarro was taken into custody at the residence on suspicion of possession of cocaine for sale and being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition.
Roberto Navarro was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department for transportation and sales of cocaine. Roberto is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
