On September 10, 2008 at approximately 7:00 AM, detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) served a search warrant in the 800 block of North Sycamore in Lindsay.
Detectives were conducting a follow-up investigation regarding the possession of an illegal firearm, which occurred in the City of Porterville.
Detectives conducted a search of the residence and located approximately 19,469 grams (43.6 pounds) of processed marijuana for sale, which had an estimated street value of approximately $108,161.
Detectives also seized approximately $10,000 in U.S. currency and a 2003 Dodge Intrepid. Investigators also located digital scales, packaging material and other items associated with the sales and transportation of marijuana.
Jesus Barraza, Alcaro Sanchez and Sergio Sanchez were arrested for possession for sales of marijuana and booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department. They are being held in lieu of a $250,000 bail.
Juan Barraza was arrested for possessing a firearm with an unauthorized or altered serial number. Juan Barraza was also booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Porterville Substation and is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bail.
