On September 8, 2008, Detectives from the Porterville Police Department’s General Investigations Unit began investigating allegations that a confidential female juvenile had been sexually assaulted at a residence within the city limits.
During this investigation a search warrant was served at a residence in the 100 block of North “F” Street where evidence was obtained supporting the allegations.
The seventeen year old male, resident was positively identified as the suspect. With the suspect identified, this information was passed on to patrol officers to be on the lookout for this individual.
Porterville Police Officer Todd Lientz located the suspect in the area of Willow Avenue and Leggett Street where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was subsequently booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility.
The 17 year old suspect is a known gang member with an extensive history of criminal activity.
