On August 28, 2008 at approximately 4:00 p.m., detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Orange Avenue and “D” Street after witnessing an illegal narcotics transaction.
During the traffic stop detectives arrested Tony Navarro, 35 years old for a felony arrest warrant, transportation of a controlled substance and sales of a controlled substance.
Detectives later located approximately 2.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine which had a street value of approximately $120.
Navarro was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department and is being held in lieu of a $45,000 bail.
