On August 15, 2008, detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Tulare County Probation Department served a narcotics search warrant in the 100 block of East Gibbons Avenue.
Detectives conducted a search of the location and located 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine which had an estimated street value of approximately $750.
Detectives also located scales, packaging materials and other evidence consistent with the sales of methamphetamine. During the course of the investigation detectives identified the suspect as Roy Knott.
On August 26, 2008, at approximately 5:00 p.m., undercover detectives with the Porterville Police Department Special Investigations Unit negotiated with Roy Knott for the purchase of 56 grams of methamphetamine. During this portion of the investigation Roy Knott attempted to purchase suspected methamphetamine from undercover detectives.
Roy Knott was arrested by investigators and booked for possession for sales of a controlled substance, maintaining a residence where narcotics are being sold, attempting to purchase a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
Roy Knott was booked at the Porterville Sheriff Substation and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. This case is still under investigation by the Porterville Police Department.
