PPD Officers were dispatched to the Express mart and Gas located at 1060 W. Olive regarding a possible “beer run”. The suspects left in a green truck prior to officers arrival, however Officer Martinez located it a short time later traveling northbound SR 65 north of Linda Vista.
The vehicle was stopped and the occupants, identified as Ramon Salinas and Carlos Zacarias, were both found to be intoxicated.
Officer Green also responded to assist Officer Martinez and arrested Salinas for driving while intoxicated while Offficer Martinez arrested Zacarias for public intoxication.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed about ½ gram of cocaine and ½ gram of methamphetamine that was determined to belong to Salinas.
Both suspects were arrested and booked in the Tulare County Jail.
It was later determined that no theft had occurred at the store, only a verbal argument.
