On August 19, 2008 at approximately 1:15 P.M. Officer M. Benas conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 900 Block of North Jaye Street for a vehicle violation.
The passenger of the vehicle, Henry Joe Vargas, was contacted and was determined to have a felony warrant for his arrest.
While taking Vargas into custody, a small amount of methamphetamine was located in his possession.
Vargas was booked at the Porterville Police Department for the felony warrant and a fresh charge of possession of methamphetamine. Vargas was later transported to Tulare County Jail for housing.
