On August 14, 2008 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the Porterville Golf Course regarding juveniles on the course. Arriving officers observed two male juveniles, ages 15 and 16, riding on the golf course in a stolen golf cart.
Officers gave chase and were able to apprehend one of the juvenile suspects in a nearby neighborhood. The other juvenile suspect was initially able to elude police.
During the investigation the identity of the second juvenile suspect was discovered. The second juvenile suspect was located at his residence and arrested without incident.
The juveniles had broken into a secured area and stolen one of the golf carts. The golf cart was recovered on the property intact.
Both juveniles were transported to the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility for housing on charges of Commercial Burglary and Evading Police.
