On August 11, 2008 at approximately 2:00 PM, Detective Chris McGuire observed an illegal narcotics transaction in the 600 Block of North Main Street. Detective McGuire detained Amanda Osborne and a 17 year old juvenile. Both suspects had over 30 grams of suspected ICE Methamphetamine packaged for sale with an estimated street value of $1,500.
Detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the Tulare County Probation Department and the Tulare Regional Auto Theft Taskforce (T-RATT) served search warrants related to the investigation in the 100 block of South Doree Street, 600 block of North Main Street, and the 600 block of West Putnam Avenue.
Detectives conducted searches of the above residences and located digital scales, packaging materials, and other evidence tending to prove a conspiracy to sell and distribute a controlled substance.
Amanda Osborne was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Bob Wiley Detention Facility for transportation, sales and conspiracy to sell a controlled substance. Amanda Osborne is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The seventeen year old juvenile was also arrested and booked for transportation and possession for sales of a controlled substance. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detection Facility in Visalia. The juvenile is being held without bail.
