On August 07, 2008 at approximately 9:42p.m., Sgt. Nix conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and contacted the driver who did not have any form of identification; however she did provide a name that could not be verified.
Further investigation revealed that the driver provided the name of a Porterville resident that was not her own.
The driver was detained and a search of her vehicle revealed paperwork in the name of Yvonne Fernandez, 32yrs, of Terra Bella, which was determined to be the driver’s true identity. Fernandez was found to be driving on a suspended license and arrested.
During the booking process Fernandez became uncooperative with officers and was additionally charged with delaying a peace officer.
Fernandez was later transported to the Bob Wiley Detention Facility and booked for the listed charges.
