On Sunday, July 6, 2008, Officer Carl Jordan while on patrol in the area of Putnam Avenue and Villa Street observed a 1997 Chevy pick-up truck traveling westbound at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver Leland Wood age 36 was found to exhibit signs of intoxication. Further investigation revealed
Mr. Wood to be on active State Parole and in possession of an illegal weapon.
Mr. Wood was arrested and a subsequent test revealed him to be driving well above the legal limit. Mr. Wood was charged and booked on drunken driving, possession of an illegal weapon and felony State Parole violation.
He was booked at the Tulare County Jail.
