Busted for DUI, Burglary, Battery, Threats and Violation of Parole
(Jul 06 2008) - Porterville Police Dept - Press Release
by Sgt Mike Blaine - Porterville Police Dept :

On Sunday, July 6, 2008, the Porterville Police Department received a call that a theft had just occurred at the Music Trend store, 1122 West Henderson Avenue.

Just prior to receiving the report, Officer James Gong had made a traffic stop on a motorcyclist for not wearing a helmet on Prospect Street, just north of Henderson Avenue.

During the course of the traffic stop, the motorcyclist was unable to produce a driver’s license, identifying himself as Michael Campbell stating he had gone to Music Trend to purchase a compact disc.

Mr. Campbell also displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication. Porterville Police Communications then received the report of the theft from Music Trend, reporting Mr. Campbell as being responsible for the theft of a compact disc, which he had secreted in his under clothing.

Mr. Campbell was subsequently taken into custody. During the contact with Mr. Campbell, he became increasingly violent, threatening, resisting arrest and assaulted the arresting officer. Mr. Campbell was subsequently charged with assault on a peace officer, burglary, driving under the influence, threats on a peace officer and a parole violation.

Mr. Campbell was subsequently booked into the Tulare County Main Jail.
