On July 2, 2008, Officer Rivera was dispatched to Save Mart, 900 West Henderson Avenue, regarding two shoplifters in custody. Save Mart Loss Prevention Agents had Mabel Linacero and Emma Morales detained when Officer Rivera arrived.
Ms. Linacero and Ms. Morales were seen leaving the store without paying for several items. During a search incident to the arrest of Ms. Linacero, Officer Rivera found a small amount of suspected methamphetamine in her possession.
Officer Rivera also located narcotic paraphernalia in Ms. Linacero’s possession. Ms. Linacero and Ms. Morales also displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance,
Ms. Linacero was booked into Bob Wiley Detention Facility on charges of possession of a controlled substance, under the influence of a controlled substance, petty theft, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Ms. Morales was charged with petty theft and being under the influence of a controlled substance and released from the Porterville Police Department on a promise to appear in Court.
