On May 17, 2008, at approximately 11:45p.m., Officers from the Porterville Police Department’s were dispatched to the area of Miranda and Plano regarding an assault.
On Officers arrival, they found victim Mateo Sylvestri suffering from two stab wounds to the chest. Mateo was transported to Sierra View District Hospital and later transferred to Regional Medical Center in Fresno, California.
The victim {Mateo Sylvestri - age 32 - of Porterville} stated he was walking in the area of Plano and Miranda when he was approached by two male subjects, one armed with a knife, demanding money from the victim.
The victim refused and an altercation ensued. The victim was able to run into the roadway were witnesses saw the attack and the suspects fled on foot.
Suspects in this case are two Mexican male adults, ages from 18 to 20 years with shaved heads.
