PPD find Drugs and Weapons

On May 6th. Officers with the Porterville Police Department’s Neighborhood Crime Suppression Unit were contacted by the Tulare County Probation Department in regards to marijuana plants located inside a residence {200 block of West Orange Street, Porterville} during a routine probation search.
When NCSU officers arrived they seized (2) marijuana plants and additionally located an illegal “billy club”. The marijuana plants, if allowed to grow to maturity, had the potential of yielding about one pound each of processed marijuana with a total estimated street value of approximately $1500.
The suspect was identified as Richard Soria who was located nearby and arrested without incident. Richard was later transported to the Tulare County Jail where he was booked on the listed charges.
