On January 14th, 2009, at approximately 3:03 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Mill Street and Third Avenue in regards to a possible attempted robbery.
Upon arrival officers contacted the adult victim, Eric Robertson, who said that he had been walking in the area when the suspect, known to him from prior contacts, confronted him and demanded money.
The victim refused then the suspect demanded his cell phone and tried to take the phone from him. They struggled briefly and the suspect then hit the victim once with his fist. The suspect fled the area without any property. The victim was uninjured.
The suspect, Frank Perez, 27 years old of Porterville, was located at an address in the 500 block of West Morton Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
