On January 14, 2009, Officers responded to a report of a fight in the area of Oak Avenue and Doree Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that a 16 year-old male juvenile had been walking in the neighborhood when he was confronted and assaulted by 5-6 other male juveniles.
The victim attempted to walk away from the suspects; however, one of them punched the victim in the face causing him to fall to the ground. Once on the ground, the suspects began kicking and punching the victim in the head, face, and body. The victim sustained bruising, swelling, abrasions and lacerations to his head and face.
As Officers were checking the area for the suspects, Sergeant Barteau located the suspects attempting to flee in the 800 block of Mohoff Court. They were detained and arrested after being identified as the suspects by witnesses. All three were interviewed and denied any involvement in the attack and the motive for the attack is still under investigation.
All suspects arrested were determined to be juveniles and were booked at the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility for Assault with Intent to Create Great Bodily Injury and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. The investigation is ongoing regarding the outstanding suspects.
