On Monday, January 12, 2009, at 12:38 p.m. Officer Powers was dispatched to a confidential address in Porterville regarding an assault.
Investigation revealed Cruz Valles repeatedly threatened, intimidated, and assaulted the confidential victim with his hands and a screwdriver, for an extended period of time at a local motel. The victim suffered considerable bruising.
Mr. Valles was located in the same motel a short time later and was taken into custody without incident.
Mr. Valles was transported to the Tulare County Sheriffs Department, Porterville Sub-Station, for housing on charges of 245 PC-Assault With a Deadly Weapon; 422 PC-Terrorist Threats; and 136.1 PC-Victim Intimidation.
