On January 10, 2009 at approximately 2:00 a.m. a clerk from Big D Liquor, 699 South Plano Street, Porterville, reported a theft that had just occurred.
Officers arrived at the business and contacted Steven Fawcett. Mr. Fawcett was detained by the clerk.
The investigation revealed Mr. Fawcett had tried to steal alcoholic beverages from the business and was detained by the clerk.
A second suspect who was associated with Mr. Fawcett had fled the scene in a vehicle.
Officer Meier located the additional suspect, Richard Dunn, at a residence located in the 200 block of South Plano Street. Mr. Dunn was taken into custody without incident.
Both Mr. Fawcett and Mr. Dunn were booked into Tulare County Jail on the above charge.
