As everyone remembered – yesterday – was St Patrick’s day, and the Post took one of the fastest street survey’s to see how many people really remembered … to wear green.
Out of 30 people we stopped who were wearing the “Good-Luck Color” only 8 let us take their picture. And boy did the Post discover a little something that employers need to know, the next time they hire someone new.
While anyone could have come to work today wearing the color green, these folks remembered to wear this color in honor of … some one, some thing or some place. Meaning, they took a little extra time to go through their closets and to showcase their intentions.
Translation – These folks became the center of attention at work and uplifted the spirits of others where they worked. As well, those who worked in sales caught the eyes of that new customer and made that potential customer a probable customer.
Bottom line – when you conduct your next employee interview, ask an additional question regarding holidays and the last time they dressed up for that holiday. Odds are you’ll find either an outgoing sales person – who will help your bottom line - or someone who likes to dress-down and really isn’t a team player.
BTW – The 18 of the 22 other folks that did wear green did want to have their picture taken, but their employer or corporate office said no. Go figure …
Now … this survey wasn’t that scientific and it may be a little skewed, but for sure we found some happy people wearing the “Good-Luck Color” … green.
