One of the first questions that Dr. Lane addressed, last night, to a group of seniors at Landmark Christian Center was the difference between Medicare and Medi-Cal.
There is a big difference and it’s basically who pays for what and when. Dr. Keith Lane pointed out that you don’t have to be “Welfare-Poor” to receive any one of these entitlements from the government. You paid your 40 quarters in, now you’re entitled to receive those benefits.
Dr. Lane, who is a Certified Senior Advisor and a Medi-Cal Specialist, and past professor at Fresno Pacific College shared with the audience that one of the problems that many face, while attempting to contact someone from Medicare or Medi-Cal, is who to contact in that department for the right information. Dr. Lane discovered that those who work at these government departments hardly stay in their assigned areas for very long and don’t accrue enough time to become well versed with the codes, rules and regulations.
Well, it still is a struggle – even today – to find the right people who have the right answer. And Dr. Lane, who took time (15 months) off from all of his other commitments to thoroughly study and investigate this dilemma, found out that you need a specialist to get through all the people who don’t know and the others who don’t care.
And caring is the key word here in this article. Dr. Lane testified, that evening, he’d been a Christian most all of his life and prayed and asked the Lord for guidance regarding what he should do to help the people with their Medi-Cal issues. And before the crowd new it, he was about halfway into a “good-little-preach” when he stopped and asked if this place was anointed. The crowd laughed knowing that most visitors who come to Landmark have the same experience.
By the time Dr. Lane finished, several folks had answers to basic questions and others he kindly asked them to call him (559) 897-1707 for specific advise.
BTW - The "preach" was good and so was the information.
