“This shouldn’t take more than a few day, a week at most,” Mr. Erik Fierro, from his drivers seat within the Hitachi 350 LC excavator told the Post. “I’ve been running heavy equipment like this for about fourteen to fifteen years, and it’s still a lot of fun.”
Porterville’s Redevelopment Agency awarded this $375,000.00 dollar project to JWT General Engineering of Clovis and hopes to have it complete by March 29th 2009. “That’s our first goal said Porterville’s Assistant Engineer Nathan Delk and if not by then it gotta’ be done before the Iris Festival, which lands on April 25th 2009. The Iris Festival is one of Porterville’s biggest down town event’s and it would really be great to have that new parking lot ready to go by then.”
Will there be the same number of parking spaces as before, the Post asked. “Yes !” Mr. Delk reassured the Post. “… 59 old parking spaces will be replaced with 59 new parking spaces. The old trees and shrubs will all be pulled and the parking spaces will no longer be slanted, but will line up from north to south.”
