(Nov 19 2008) LINDSAY, CA -- Tuesday night {Nov 18th 2008} women gathered from all parts of Tulare County to form a new Concerned Women for America Chapter. Assembling first in Lindsay at Sonlight Christian Fellowship, Ms Patricia Thompson – the Chapter’s new Chairperson - invited Ms Phyllis Nemeth, the California CWA director, to be their first guest speaker.
Ms Nemeth, touched on the main areas which CWA {web} has been concerned about, namely the sanctity of life, religious liberty, the Biblical definition of a family unit, education, pornography and national sovereignty. Part of project 535, Ms Nemeth also travels to Washington D.C. one day a month, to speak with legislators and to promote Biblical values.
Earlier in the day, Ms. Nemeth traveled to Fresno and shared her concerns with Pastor Jim Franklin - from the Cornerstone Church. Knowing that Proposition 8 may be overturned by another court decision, it’s vital that Christians take a stand like Pastor Franklin has and continues to do, the Post was informed by one of the new members.
On the agenda for this night was a legislative up-date regarding FOCA, the Freedom of Choice Act. Ms Thompson read from one of CWA’s publications and stressed, many of the pro-life laws that American’s have voted into place could all be overturned if president elect Obama and the socialist democrats have their way.
As chilling, Ms Nemeth informed the new chapter that Freedom of Religious Expression Act really doesn’t really provide the whole truth. Basically this legislative proposal will limit, if not forbid, the display of any religious objects on your personal property, especially if you live in a gated community, a time-share or any home owner association.
Could 2008 be the last time American’s, let-alone Christian, are allowed to display a nativity scenes on their front lawns or on top of their roof tops ? If the liberals, who have a basic majority in both houses, have any say-so on it … yes !
Additional information was shared and a few testimonies regarding CWA and how important it is for women to come together to pray and contact their representatives in Sacramento and of course Washington D.C.
