Dear Editor, There is a planned protest in front of Porterville’s City Hall on Tuesday May 19th @ noon. The issue is Porterville City Hall’s lack of support for local business.
You are starting to see many cities in California (Visalia as an example) start to pass ordinances saying that “ALL BUSINESS IS ESSENTIAL”’ !!! We expect Porterville to do the same.
The Governor’s order is not only Unconstitutional but unfair. He is basically saying who gets to eat and who starves.
Porterville business owners will take all necessary precautions to keep employees and customers as safe as possible. Businesses have had ample time to prepare safety protocols to limit the virus spread.
Customers can decide if they are willing to come back to the business or not without “big brother” making the decision for them.
Porterville needs to support its local businesses as other cities in California are starting to do.
Respectfully, on May 14th 2020, from John Hardin From Porterville, CA.
