Dear Editor, I attended the recent High Speed Rail Hanford "Bait and Switch" meeting that promoted higher cost projections, reduced Quality and reduced Quantity.
Recap:
#1. The original 800 mile ELECTRIFIED clean energy powered High Speed Rail Project estimated cost in 2009 was around $33 Billion Dollars costing $41 Million Dollars per mile to build.
#2. The new 520 mile Diesel Powered High Speed Rail proposal is $99 Billion Dollars costing taxpayers $190 Million Dollars per mile to build a Diesel powered NON-Electrified Train that can only do about half the speed originally proposed.
#3. Costing 190 Million Dollars per Mile is nearly five times the original cost for reduced Quality and reduced Quantity, a classic political bait and switch money scheme and they have not even laid one piece of track yet! Why should we believe their constantly increasing Cost, Quality and Quantity numbers are accurate?
Costing 190 Million Dollars per Mile is nearly five times the original cost for reduced Quality and reduced Quantity, a classic political bait and switch money scheme.
Solution:
#1. Politicians, Lobbyist and local authorities supporting the High Speed Rail Train Robbery cannot be trusted and deserve to be voted out of office.
#2. Politicians have deceived Voters again and Voters deserve the right to vote on the new higher cost project. Politicians NOT supporting a new vote deserve to be voted out of office.
Thanks ... Russ Waymire russwaymire@sbcglobal.net from Hanford, CA.
