THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott

It is normal for us humans to usually take the easy way or resort to shortcuts—whether it is on a hike, in a relationship with conflict issues, a shortcut regarding repairs or the building of something, the easiest way to solve a problem involving money, or a thousand other situations that come up in our lives that demand our attention.

Some time back I worked part time for a man who had a saying when something inconvenient happened that needed to be dealt with or fixed quickly; he would say with a smirk, It may not be right but it’s right now!

The problem with that often enough was that that quick-fix was usually not revisited and fixed long-term or the repair job done in haste would not be later addressed in the best way. So often, we resort to taking the path of least resistance, which can more times than not be a mistake.

And so today I say that unless a temporary and immediate action is required to prevent loss of life, beware of taking the path of least resistance in the things that come up in your life that require you do something about them—a thing that presents itself as urgent and important.

Such actions can backfire on you, or prove to be inadequate and foolish, or even cost you more in the end than you knew would result, and then regrets come.

( The Path of Least Resistance )
An option avoiding difficulty or unpleasantness; the easiest course of action. Instead of choosing the best way it is the fastest or simplest way to continue.
In Case You Cannot Relate to This Subject
I will offer a few examples of taking the easy way instead of taking the best steps

• Your car starts blowing steam from under the hood and you find a radiator hose has a crack in it so you use duct tape, which seems to hold “for now”...
• You receive a bill for services and don’t have the money to pay it in full so you charge the whole bill on your credit card “for now”…
• During the last storm a roof leak developed so you quickly put a tarp over that roof area but fail to properly repair it and a bigger storm comes in…
• A significant relationship issue comes up and instead of doing what the Bible says about such things you pretend it never happened or allow a distance to grow between you and that person…

† Matthew 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 25 Agree (give yourself wholly to [the best solution]) with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. . . 6: 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

† 1 Corinthians 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? . . . 7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you. . . Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

The Everlasting God has given us the perfect and the only solution to both a life of peace while we live in this physical body and a never-ending life in His eternal realm when our human form dies. That Solution is through His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way to have both these things and they are bound together in the Person and by the Promises of God (Who cannot lie) through His Savior Jesus.

† John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

† Titus 1:2 [We have the] ...hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.

† Hebrews 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast. . .

† John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions. . . I go to prepare a place for you. . . 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

† Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Beware of the many paths in life that are easier to travel on rather than the right path, which often is not the most convenient. Jesus spoke to this issue in different ways with perhaps the best known teaching being about the road we individually choose to walk on—the right road is one that fraught with obstacles and resistance.

† 1 Samuel 13:6 When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait*, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits. 7 And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.

( Hebrew: sarar/tsaw-rar’ )
*Hebrew: sarar/tsaw-rar’: to cramp, literal or figurative; [facing an] adversary, be in affliction, besieged, bound, distressed, in a narrow [place], oppressed, [one of] pangs [sharp sudden pain], shut up, be in trouble, vexed.
† Matthew 7: 13 Enter ye in at the strait (narrow with obstacles standing close about) gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow (crowded, [to] throng [to pack with] afflictions, a narrow[ness], the suffering of tribulation, trouble]) is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

† Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

† John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Now I ask you, with what Jesus said in mind, which do people find is the path of least resistance: the wide gate and broad road or the pathway that begins at the strait gate whose pathway is narrow and cluttered with obstacles along the way? You know the answer to that question! The easy way leads to destruction and only the hard way leads to life.

The Holy Scriptures tells us that the strait and narrow path is the only way to life and few there are that will choose to go that way—but we must if we want to be accepted into Heaven rather than have its door irreversibly shut to us. Is that possible for many that profess to be followers of Jesus yet shun the commandments of His written Word?

† Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
( What Am I Specifically Warning of Today? )
I am declaring to you that during this life we are called and appointed to walk on the road that is not an easy pathway. It is the one and only road that leads to Heaven’s gate one day and to find that it is indeed open to you and to me.

You know from Jesus’ words that just getting through the gate at some point in this human life means to (with some effort) step around or climb over obstacles put there to discourage and hinder us. Once through that gate, getting born again by the Spirit of God, the road by definition is “crowded” with tribulations and trouble intended to cause us to give up (that’s why we are so often told to have “patience” and “endure”).

It is a road also by definition that is “narrow”; it is just barely wide enough in places that only you can slip along the rising cliff to one side and not fall over the edge on the other (meaning some things we must by faith carefully navigate completely alone).

What Are Some of The Difficult Obstructions to Deal With
And by-yourself steps you must carefully take on the road of life?

• Forgiveness of others—not just 7 times but 70 times 7
• The work of sinning less and less as commanded by Jesus
• The often and sincere repentance for our sin when we do
• Obedience to the all the commands of Scripture
• Seeking the Lord for His counsel in matters of our lives
• Not giving up on God during a trial because He seems to be absent
• Believing the promises of the written Word of God
• Trusting the Lord and not the world for what we need and doing without some things by the arrangement of God
• And ultimately, one day not taking “the mark of the beast” to have food, water, medical care, and the illusion of safety

These things and others all have their built-in temptations to take shortcuts or an easier way, which are the well-worn side trails of least resistance that do not accomplish what God has ordained. We must beware of such temptations that lead to fear and unbelief, or compromise, or an attitude of “I can handle this myself, God”, which things actually serve as subtle detours in the road that are like freeway interchanges that effortlessly take you from the path of life onto the highway that leads to destruction.

Doing things the easiest or more convenient way for us do not serve the purposes of God in our lives and must be carefully examined in the light of the Word of God and the counsel of the audible GPS voice within the born again one, which guiding GPS voice is the Holy Spirit.

Beware Of The Path of Least Resistance
As The Enemy of Your Soul ~ Has Planned Many For Your Life ~ In The Days Ahead!

† 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

† 2 Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

† Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

† Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from (through) the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
