THE RIGHT WORD - with Brother Scott

I heard someone say once that “We have yet not seen how evil that evil can be!” I agree with that statement; by looking back, those of us that are especially over 50 can see how dramatic the moral decline of our country has become in our lifetime and that there has been a noticeable acceleration of wickedness in just the last 10 to 15 years.

And I do not doubt that evil is just starting to get warmed-up!

One only needs to compare what the Bible says about these last days with our daily news reports of peoples’ attitudes and behaviors right here in America.

Consider what many people do today out in the open with no shame and that the people they live among just look the other way—what does that say to our adolescents and younger children about what is acceptable to do and how to be?

( )
† Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. . . 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

† Jude 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain [hatred and murder], and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward [idolatries and sexual issues], and perished in the gainsaying of Core [rising up against spiritual authority]. . . 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. 17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

And it’s not only in the workplaces and schools and openly flaunted in our malls, parks and sidewalks but even in many so-called Christian churches and the homes of many that profess to be followers of Jesus Christ. I ask: How can they be true believers?
( )
† 2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (avoid).

† 1 Corinthians 5:9 I wrote unto you [church] in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

What I hope to impart to you today is that the evil that men and fallen angels do is getting worse, and like any disease or sickness not guarded against, evil and wickedness can infect otherwise spiritually healthy individuals and whole families.

I am not a proponent of vaccines, especially those that have been developed over the past 25 years, and more recently since Covid. As a Christian and student of the written Word of God, I believe our human bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit and that we are to be wise stewards of them—a commandment of the Holy Scriptures.

Therefore, to guard against and aggressively fight sickness and disease, I rely on God’s design of our bodies to defend itself against such things by its immune system, if it is kept up-to-date-healthy and its defense systems viable.

I will not knowingly submit to anything developed by men (especially now with help of fallen angels) using mRNA and other gene editing technologies that destroy the immune system, attack our organs, and rewrite our human DNA.

It is hard enough to stay free of such things by trying to avoid genetically modified foods without voluntarily participating with the devil’s now wholly-owned medical and pharmaceutical businesses and allow my body’s functions to be violated by injections and GMOs.

( )
† 1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

† 2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

I have just used things of our physical realm as examples to bring to your attention things spiritual. Just as wicked spiritual forces are actively arrayed against us and secretly warring against our physical health, they have been for much longer times and even more effectively been giving us spiritual injections of evil things in ways we do not recognize or want to admit are wrong for us.

AS EVIL MATURES AROUND US

As evil matures around us, wickedness has become very good at drawing even unsuspecting disciples of Jesus into their influence and thereby corrupting not only our physical health but our minds, emotions and our willingness to go God’s way, as well as casting a wet blanket of sorts upon our regenerated human spirit against the life of holiness we are to be advancing in.

Just as the medical systems that used to be beneficial are now to be looked at with suspicion, the things of our everyday lives must be carefully watched; as you may have heard it said in a dangerous military environment, we must “keep our heads on a swivel”. That means that we need to stay on-guard about all aspects of our lives or we will be caught off-guard, and to one degree or another seduced and defeated in our spiritual walk and any progress we have made voided.

How? How are believers seduced and drawn into the devil’s spiritual killing fields without even recognizing they are lambs being led to slaughter? I’ll give you three examples:

I'LL GIVE YOU THREE EXAMPLES

1. Judas Goats in the church, on the Internet, and the television; these goats are those at the helm of so-called ministries and numerous churches big and small that are interested in larger congregations and offerings and therefore provide what world-loving claimants to Christianity want: That which appeals to the soul and not the spirit. Unbiblical and therefore unspiritual music (in church and through personal devices), entertaining sermonettes, very little use of the Word of God, no mention of the cross or the precious blood of Jesus, and the critical issue of sin and needed repentance of it are never brought up. People leave such meetings feeling good about their religious practice by their dutiful attendance, have not heard from God, have no conviction of their sinful ways, and return to their homes and lives neither knowing God’s Word nor Jesus. I’ve urged you to sincerely ask this question as you participate in our meetings: “What is God saying to me today?”
2. A Christian’s love of the world and its things is also very useful to the enemies of our souls. People and things and the stuff of our everyday lives are very effective distractions that detour us away from those things that are important to our born-again lives. We have things we “love” to do, places we “love” to go, and people we “love” to be with, which in moderation might be okay, but when we fill-up our days with all the things of the world that we love we are not growing in the knowledge of God and benefiting from the grace that He makes available to us on eternal matters that count.
3. Time stealers—those things Christians do that totally consume any time that should be used in the really needed discipleship practices. At face-value these can be activities that are not sinful (such as a little free-time spent playing games or sleeping in moderation) but if they cause the neglect of one’s spiritual needs while reinforcing laziness toward God and His ways, this is sin. For some, many things they do are just plain wicked—the hours-long viewing of things sexually deviant, murderous and bloody, vulgar language, and other things often leading to the mind’s exposure to witchcraft and other dark practices. center>
The effects of these things are that they (without perceiving it) move Christians along in a direction away from holiness of mind and heart. Our spiritual senses and safeguards begin to relax and then slumber as continued exposure to the world’s darkness encourages spiritual compromise.

Believers that allow such things (a little here and a little there, and then more and more) inevitably will grow from an already casual interest in spiritual matters—to lukewarm and half-hearted—and can end up indifferent and cold toward God.

This becomes a classic case of what is called being “backslidden” and again lost in sin. In more extreme cases called by God as becoming “reprobate”, people will find that not only do they enjoy such things a lot but try to involve others to join them and revel in it when that happens.

( )
† Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

† Proverbs 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways. . .

† Romans 1:28 [About those slipping away] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. . . 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

As evil matures around us we must recognize it and refuse to go along with any apart of it.
( )
† Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth (turn off, turn away from) evil?

† 1 Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 11 Let him eschew (shun, avoid, turn away/go out from) evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

We haven’t yet seen how evil that evil can be! As evil fully matures in the world and against us, so must our opposing walk in righteousness and holiness reach its full measure in the Lord, and that takes a trained spiritual awareness and the guts to stand. If you do not—these things can get you:

If You Do Not ~ These Things Will Get You

1. When you realize you are spending less time in your relationship with God by sound spiritual disciplines—fix that and do not put it off!
2. When you find it easy to skip our believers’ meetings for no legitimate reason—rebuke that laziness toward God and your Savior!
3. When circumstances create hardships in the everyday needs of your household (expenses rise beyond your means, incomes stop), in workplace conditions (persecution, “Do this or you’re fired”, layoffs), or in family relationships (sharp disagreements, betrayal, the “mark”)—choose to stand by faith and by believing prayer trust the Lord.
4. When sickness, disease, or the scarcity of needed goods create demands on you to accept their solutions—be already ready to refuse by being sold-out in your trust in God.
5. When temptations to sin confront you, realize it is to dilute your standing before God and ultimately cause you to fall away—Cast down such thoughts!

( )
† 2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

† 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because [as he did with Job] your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith…

† Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

† Matthew 24:21 [Jesus said that in our day:] …then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
