| Customizing Your Beliefs - #2
† Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed (banned, excommunicated). 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. In part one, I paired what the Apostle Paul said to the Galatians with what (in our time) Dr. George Barna revealed about those in America that profess to be Christians. I made and continue to make the point in this segment that our Christian culture has in large-part customized the pure Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the only Gospel able to save one’s soul; huge numbers of those believing they are born again and will go to Heaven one day are believing things that are “another gospel”, which will not save a man or woman’s soul. Syncretism, which is “the combination of different forms of belief or practice; a mixing of elements from different religious systems or traditions”, is a spiritual cancer that is about to metastasize into a full-blown acceptance of the antichrist. It is no wonder that recent revelations by men that have had near-death experiences have been told by the Lord that the numbers of those claiming to be born again and saved are less than 3% of the so-called Christian population. Without trying very hard, that number can easily be correlated with what Dr. Barna is telling us about what American Christians today believe is the Gospel that saves men’s souls. “Another gospel” has swept our country and has stealthily corrupted the true Gospel.
It is no wonder that there are so many wrong teachings and beliefs in the church when so many are using watered-down and profane bibles. How can we speak and think and agree on the “same thing”? We cannot and it is leading millions to the pit of hell as they die. † 1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. [Also referenced: † Philippians 3:13-16]As I mentioned last week, I recently received a short update from Dr. Barna that reveals that the problems he has exposed (and I am talking about) has grown even worse. These things should cause everyone within the sound of my voice to be concerned about their own version of what God requires for one to be saved and enter Heaven one day—concerned for yourself that what you believe is both true and pure.
Someone once said this: “We must keep the main thing the main thing.” The “main thing” has to do with your personal relationship with a holy God, and that involves faith and obedience by living according to His strict and stated standards found in His written Word. We cannot pick and choose what we will believe and how we will live our lives: a little of the Bible here, a healthy dash of the world there, and add-in some beliefs of other false religions that we like and want to be true. We cannot in any way customize God’s plan to save us while presuming that we will be accepted by Him at our death. In these last days you should consider it to be a matter of “all or nothing” because it requires a completely devoted biblical view of the world to stand against the coming rule of the antichrist. The foremost thought in a believer’s mind and daily practice must be “What does the Bible say; what is the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the commands of God’s Word”—and not “What are my favorite Televangeliars saying that fits the way I want to live?” I’ve said it many times over the years that a majority of church-goers go to church to have someone behind a pulpit tell them what they should believe so they do not have to read their bibles for themselves. What if the esteemed leaders on the platforms are not using the unadulterated Word of God and rightly dividing it? What if what professional clergymen believe themselves is another gospel; where will that lead those that go home and live that version of such a work of fiction? A majority of Christian leaders in America today do not lead from a biblical worldview. They have become the Pharisees and Sadducees of Christ’s time and cannot be blindly trusted to uphold the Word and ways of God. What the American Worldview Inventory 2022-2023 discloses about a majority pastors, teachers, and presumably how many church board members lead-from is not the Bible’s perspective but is a worldview that is some diluted form of a cross-cultural religious and feel-good mumbo-jumbo. The percentage of Christian pastors that possess a Biblical worldview: All pastors: 37%, Senior/Lead pastor: 41%, Associate/Assistant pastor: 28%, Teaching pastor: 13% [7+/100], Children’s/Youth pastor: 12% [8+/100], Executive pastor: 4% “These Are The Cornerstones of a Needed Biblical Worldview” 1. An orthodox, biblical understanding of God † Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. As the story unfolds (and by 2 more sequels), some had found their way out of the matrix and began a fight to overthrow the computerized overlords and set people free, which freedom came by hearing the truth and choosing to believe it, and taking the red pill of freedom [representing beliefs, choices, or information that allow you to see the world as it really is, even though you feel safer and happier in the fantasy world you were used to]—some took the pill and others did not. By this example, can you see the parallels with what I am warning you about when you customize your beliefs about what God has offered resulting in a new life and one that is eternal. . .compared to what the devil has been successful at doing through another gospel?
There is no such place as Hell or a real Satan, Jesus and Lucifer are brothers, Jesus was created by God, Jesus was not God but just a great prophet and teacher raised up by God, at one time God was a mere man that ascended to become God, Jesus died for our sins but we cannot be saved unless we obey all the teachings of the church, when I first accepted Jesus as Savior I was forgiven of all sins past and future—there is no need for me to repent of sins I commit now, healing and spiritual gifts were only for the first church, Paul’s writings should be thrown out, whatever the government legalizes makes it okay with God, it is okay for Christians today to not be baptized in water, being baptized in the Holy Spirit is not needed for victorious Christian living, sexual thoughts about or actual physical indulgences apart from a marriage partner are not sinful, living and sleeping with a person outside of marriage is not a problem with God, my getting high or drunk will not send me to Hell, God knows that I do not have the time to read my Bible and pray, habitual sinning cannot be helped, I’m not ready to stop the bad things I am doing—I have time to repent and make things right with God. Take a look at what first-centuries Christians believed and make this a step-one starting place for carefully examining what you belief is the Gospel that will save your soul. It is only a starting place—the rest of what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to mean to and do in men and women is found in the pages of a much older English version of our Holy Bible.
† I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. † I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. † John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. † 2 Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
