OK, troops! Get comfortable, 'cause I've got something to say & I
want you to listen & listen tight!
Smoke 'em if you've got 'em, & if you're not worried about pollution &
lung cancer. If you ain't got 'em, see your squad leader, but don't
ask me. Not one of my vices.
First off, hold onto the ground & your hats, 'cause I'm gonna shock
you. I'm NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer!!! I know, that's hard
to swallow, but it's true. I'm not even the smartest guy in my
battalion. At Fort Campbell, I was the top scorer in my battalion
with a .45 (another story for another time), but still wasn't the
smartest guy in the outfit. Get over it!!! The thing is though, I've
been thinking (no cracks!). As we approach Independence Day (the 4th
of July), we need to consider how we came to be where we are and to
Whom we owe a debt.
Now the left will tell you that everything was accidental & a natural
consequence of evolution & blind chance, unguided by intelligent
design. Wrong!!! I can prove that order does not ascend from chaos.
In fact, order (minus intelligent design) descends TO chaos.
Assignment: dump a large pile of dirt out in your yard. Get a rough
idea of how much dirt is there by volume. Leave the dirt unattended.
You will see that kids will track through it (yours & all the
neighbors'), the wind will blow it & rain will wash it away, basically
epitomizing chaos. The unattended dirt is accomplishing nothing &
slowly disappearing. When it is about half-way gone, rake up what is
left & place it in planting beds. Fertilize it, water it & plant
something, continuing to tend the soil & the seeds or plants. If you
are intelligent & faithful in you care & minus any major catastrophes,
you should have a positive outcome. If you begin to withhold care, or
make unintelligent choices, your orderly agrarian world will descend
to chaos.
I know this works as I have done it many times. It is therefore
conclusively proven that chaos plus intelligent design tends to result
in order, while order minus intelligent design tens to result in
chaos, and (of course) chaos minus intelligent design remains chaos.
That is a long-winded (but otherwise pretty darn good) method of
establishing a basis for divine inspiration in the founding of the
United States of America.
The left will parrot "Separation of church & state, awwk!!!" Shut up,
Polly!!! No, seriously, they have tried to make that a part of the
law of the land, & it just won't wash. First, they directed attention
away from "The Declaration..." and tried to make the Constitution
stand alone. That's like being in a free-fall with no solid base, &
then trying to jump. You have no foundation from which to propel
yourself forward. "The Declaration..." is a statement of why the
colonists needed to change their form of government, because of (among
other things) abuses suffered under the English king, ie "...for
quartering large bodies of armed troops among us...", the
Declaration's fourteenth statement of abuses & usurpation s, after
"...let facts be submitted...".
It also states the principles they hoped to embody in the new government.
The Constitution corrects the abuses, ie "No soldier shall, in time of
peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor
in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law", third
amendment, Bill of Rights.
The myth that the Constitution stands alone falls flat with the simple
question, OK, I'm a man of the future, some 2,000,000 years after all
of this happened. I see this Constitution, but it seems to be "...
much ado about nothing...", "a tempest in a teacup...", "... filled
with sound & fury & signifying nothing."
Why go to the trouble of writing all this, when it is basically just
common sense & any two people of good will could just sit down & agree
that this is how it should be done? Oh, wait a minute! This
"Declaration" over here under the left-leaning piles of newspapers.
You mean that the king actually did all this stuff? He must've been a
real a__-___e! When you put the two documents together, you can
understand what was done, & why. I was about to file charges with the
intergalactic court against those old dead guys, for treason against
the king & causing the deaths of all of the people on both sides who
died in (what seemed like) an unjust war. Now I see! Don't EVER
separate those two documents again!
Alright, you goldbricks, I'm back! So much for role-playing. The
bottom line is that the myth that this is NOT a country with a
religious foundation falls flat when you realize that the "unanimous
Declaration" and the Constitution are a two-volume set. One states
the problems & the principles & contains at least 4 direct or indirect
references to God, and the other solves the problems & establishes a
society where the principles can flourish & contains 2 (although they
are more indirect) references to God. It was for this that they
pledged their "lives", their "fortunes" & their "sacred honor". They
sacrificed their (& sometimes their families') lives & their fortunes,
but kept their sacred (before God) honor. We owe a debt to them & to
the God they honored, to keep this "one nation under God" (no comma,
just one whole thought), and leave it that way to our posterity.
I've read that George Washington spend hours humbly acknowledging his
Creator & asking for guidance. I don't know what his IQ was, but I
know mine & I'm not applying for Mensa (the genius club), as I'm not
ready to hear more laughter than I can get by just showing my face. I
figure that, if the military & political father of our country (who
achieved things that I couldn't even conceive & yet rejected the crown
of America) gave thanks to God for this country, then maybe I, a
humble word-hack & not the sharpest knife in the drawer, could do
worse than to emulate him. Class Dis-MISSED!!!
With the usual politically incorrect wishes, God bless y'all &
especially our active troops, & God bless America!
Sgt Mack out, leaving the air & securing station.
