Dear faithful readers,
My name is Kelly Brady and I feel honored with this opportunity to introduce myself as a new addition to the team of writers at the Porterville Post.
First and foremost, I would like to thank and praise God for the road that brought me here. He sent the Holy Spirit to guide me and Jesus Christ to lift me up when I was weak. Without my Father’s guidance and approval, I wouldn’t have made it this far up this challenging road. If anyone were to ask if I found the Porterville Post or if they found me, I would have to give credit to God alone, because He has a special way of bringing people together to carry out His will.
I first realized that God had given me a talent and passion for writing five years ago, during my education at San Jose City College. I did very well in my classes, but for reasons astray from my usual instincts, I was compelled to go above and beyond in my writing projects. One day, my counselor asked me what my major is. I had no clue, but my mouth blurted out “journalism.”
After almost two years of college in San Jose, I ended up back in Porterville, my hometown. The road of my life became very rocky and I fell off of the road of faith for a short period of time. During this time, I realized that my only strength in this world is through Jesus Christ. I called out His name and He lifted out of the devils snare. Through this, I learned that the trials and tribulations in my life are blessings, as my relationship with God grew to depths I never knew before. God has given me grace when I did not deserve it and bestowed blessings upon me and my family. For this, I could never express enough gratitude, and so I’ve decided to live my life according to His will through the strength of Jesus Christ. By doing so, my ears have opened to the sound of the Holy Spirit.
Over a year ago, the Holy Spirit began speaking to my heart, telling me to prepare myself to write messages of hope and truth for the public, because the time is drawing near. I took a refresher course at Porterville College and then went out looking for an intern position in journalism. I became somewhat confused when I was denied again and again, and the message was getting louder and louder. I decided to begin focusing on faith and family, and it was this that clarified and strengthened my message. Then one day, seemingly by accident, God introduced me to the Porterville Post. God’s will and my dream were realized.
A little more about me:
I am the mother of three hearty and handsome boys: Anthony, 8; Nicholas, 6; and Stephen, 2. They are a source of absolute joy and ultimate lessons in my life.
I am promised to a wonderful, handsome, strong Christian man named Kyle, whom I love dearly. As we walk along the same path together, I realize how we strengthen each others faith.
My personal interests include art, music, poetry, crafts, and family photography. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, fishing and snowboarding. I am also interested in meteorology (the weather) and aviation (flying).
My hopes for the future are to continue to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit along the path of Gods will. By doing so, I hope to bring you the message you need to hear, when you need to hear it.
